Well, first of all...

Switch this review with the one I did of Armageddon. I accidently put the review for this song on that review, and vice versa.

As for Armageddon, the song this review is for cause i'm an idiot who can't br bothered to look before clicking, its technically really good. Love the chaotic beats and piano synths in it. Reminds me of a crazy factory where a pianist has invaded. Just that fade out in the middle of the song was jarring. Actually wasn't really a fade, it just stopped then faded back in. Would have been better without it. The guitar synths were a great ender though. The song comes off as being very powerful. Everything had its place almost. Good beat and drums. Just take out that fade, that kept this song from really connecting with me. Its like this and the other track i reviewed are great, but they have certain flaws that hold them back. Which sucks cause your style is really good. Oh well, still good, but not great like it could be.

Pandora-Tranquil responds:

its amazing how one of the shittiest songs ive made gets more feedback than the best ones if made, now like 30 ppl think i suck ass and prolly wont even chek out my new stuff......

Its got an interesting rhythm

But the loop could be smoother. That bass is really heavy. Scared the crap out of my cats, and they like to sleep on my subwoofer, and most of the time don't really mind it when I'm playing music. Not this time. Now if it were only a full song and not just a loop. At least you could chop off the beginning melody without the drums and bass, and this ould make a fine loop. However, it stopping every 15 seconds to start at the beginning notes throws it off. I really wanted to give this a higher score, cause its got lots of originality in it, and would be a perfect loop, if it just went on with the beat proper. Thats my only irk with it. At least give this the proper song treatment! It deserves it, and it sounds great, just the thing i've mentioned many times is holding it back.

Pandora-Tranquil responds:

LOL thats funny.

finally somone who appreciates bass lol.

it wasnt a real good song, jus a test

(for those of u who are reading this, he was reviewing PaNdOrA-sumptin...
not this song lol)

Creates good atmosphere

But, as an atmosphereic track, its seems even more aimless than some do. Like the mix of samples in it, and the form in which it goes everywhere and back. But the beginning of the song and the ending of the song are totally different styles. So you took this track places. Just in between it gets a little lost. But the ambience is good, just as long as you don't try to pay too much attention to the song and just let it play in the background. The audio quality seemed to be a bit muffled though, which i can understand it being just a few kb, under the limit. Oh well. Not a bad track, but lacks focus in a few spots.

Uh....

Well, sampling Gorillaz was an interesting turn. The rap was a bit sloppy, and sounded heavily compressed. And it was just a bit too slow. But the lyrics were fairly good, for what wasn't completely muddled. Just improve the quality, rap a little faster, or don't slow down the track, and maybe get your own beats, and it could be better.

FodeyOz responds:

Preciate ya, down south we call it screwed up....which refers to the slowed up beat and lyrics. All that was on purpose. thanx for the response slaya

Good loop

As far as remakes go, this one is a bit too similar to the original of my tastes. But it does offer some differences, mainly the melody is a different piano synth. Okay, so there really isn't that much different. Actually thats what gets me about it. Its done really well and I see that you know your way around your programs, but it doesn't offer any real improvements or differences over the original track. Not bad as it is, just somewhat pointless in execution.

philjo responds:

ok, some improvements=heavier bass, stronger drums. not achievable on a SNES. but i see your point, youd like to have heard a development on top of the original, not just an imitation.I also see that for the use of a flash, someone might prefer to just sample the game music, as it is often done, here on NG.my point for executing this piece is to rekindle anyones nostalgic past gaming experiences. LOL! thankyou for a really constructive review.

Its very esoteric

The off beat at the beginning set the tone for the song. This would go perfect with any sort of mind bending scene. Two people fighting while flying in the air, a halucenation, uh, other things. Thats all i can think of right now. The dnb by itself was very good, had a twisted air to it. And the melody that played was distant, but still felt attached to the song. As is the course, it was a little repetitive, but the song itself was different enough so that it didn't matter too much. The only thing is the quality seems a bit low, but oh well. Good work with this track.

philjo responds:

Mate thats a great, great review. yeah i know i got this repetition problem, i dont know when to stop mate.i know that if i make it less repetative, the repeat bearability of the tune goes up!, and if i made it shorter, i could increase the quality. i understand your advice well!thank you very much for this review. i love encouragement of this sort.

Its got moments

But it doesn't seem to do enough for me. Got some interesting ideas, but it just doesn't go anywhere. Gets stuck on the breakdown interlude too long. And the porn samples just seem out of place. Plus you stuck them in the background, so many people may not notice the samples. The beat is good, and the accompanying drums sound good. Just a bit too repetitive, and kinda hollow.

REDEYEMONSTA responds:

your mums hollow.
thanks for your review!

Unexpected

It speeds up at certain places. But as far as covers go, this one is a better one i've heard. And as far as hearing a jammish rock version of the tv spiderman theme, I can chalk that up being something I'd never expect to hear. The Sort of had a 60's surfer jam touch to it. Besides the few times at the beginning where the jam sped up, this was done almost perfectly. Just of course the quality wasn't the best. Overall a good recording, totally worth listening to.

Its okay

But the sound quality stinks. And it is a bit sparse. But its not too bad. Just if the flow of the sound was smoother and the sound quality was upped a little. The offbeat synth melody was alright, but it got too repetitive. An interlude would have been nice. Or a switchup with the beat and drumline. Bass itself was weak for hip hop. In fact it just seemed way to weak. As a rap track this would be serviceable, but as a standalone beat, its lacking. Would be interested in hearing your vocal tracks. Nothing wrong with that. This really isn't a bad review I'm doling out, I'm just suggesting how to improve it, cause it is solid, but could be better.

Good at first

But it lost focus in the middle of the track. Would have benefitted if the drum track didn't drop out so long. Or if it changed up once or twice. And the ending came abruptly. Good as an atmosphereic track, but terrible as a techno track. The bass track was alright, but wasn't enough of it. I didn't hate this song, but I thought there was a few places in the song that almost ruined it.

Frostbreath responds:

Thanks for your comment! I chose techno cuz i didn't know where else to put it. But i guess you're right.

I'll start with Edge Circle 2 soon, attempting to fix it's errors.
